Meet Our Founder Thomas Tousignant
Mr. Tousignant strives to provide you with Direction and Discipline. Without Direction and discipline people often make impulsive, random or emotional decisions and choices. Many of the clients that first met with Mr. Tousignant had a variety of Life Insurance policies and investment accounts, usually these were purchased from a family friend over a relative that was “in the business”. None of these were holistic, none served the needs of the client presently, whether they ever did. Many of these folks had investments that were made years ago and never were revisited.
Do you understand the reasons for the policies that you own? Were the numbers run using scientific data and analysis?
Do you know why you own the investments that you do? Does your current financial plan take into account the role that Inflation plays? How did you come up with the choices that you made? Is there an overarching strategy that ties them all together? WHY NOT?
Taxes are and will be changing, what was once prudent may be wasteful today. What role will taxation play in your retirement? Is there a way to pay out less in taxes and keep more for yourself?
When creating a Strategy, SRS seeks to create a plan where the Insurance, investments and the taxation of your retirement income are all part of the plan!
Our Core Values Financial Strategies
The probability of being financially secure throughout ones “Golden Years”- without severely compromising one’s lifestyle or simply running out of money altogether - depends upon the Strategies in place as well as depending on what happens in the Markets in the first few years of retirement.
Retirement withdrawals are more sensitive to “Bad Decades” than to “Bad Years”. These bad Decades could simply be a Net Zero return and not just those with catastrophic losses. While we can stay invested as a way to seek returns, we must also have a plan for the Bad Decades as well as the Bad year!
Strategic Retirement Solutions Why Choose us
I chose this career because I wanted to help people. I wanted a career where I can do well by doing good. I have spent the better part of three decades running businesses for others and meeting my client’s immediate needs. I wanted to do better for them and their families, providing a vital service for them and their future generations.
The financial services industry comprises three distinct fields of expertise. Many financial professionals hold only a single license to sell insurance products, which means that while your needs may be unique, the solutions available will involve an insurance product. Bank-based advisory firms where the solutions are all generated through those chosen by the financial institutions. Finally, there are the investment-only advisors. With this expert, every need can be met with an investment of one kind or another.
Strategic Retirement Solutions is different. We have found that the best way in which we can help you, may well be by getting the best service from another experienced professional and by seeking counsel with them that we have spent decades building relationships with. We know that we are not always the smartest people in the room and may not have the knowledge to handle your needs. In those cases, we will refer you to an experienced professional within the field that you are seeking.
I chose to join the small niche of financial services professionals who have access to a wide range of solutions by being bonded and holding licenses for life, disability, and long-term care insurance, licensed and bonded to offer various solutions. Without ties to any one company, I can select a solution that will be the best fit for your unique needs. This means that, together, we can create a very personalized and comprehensive strategy that will meet your goals, using the very best solutions. Famous advisor Michael Kitces has often said that clients liken their financial planning experience with financial professional to a combination of “A dental exam, math class, and marriage therapy.”
Out of the many reasons based on scientific facts and research, the most obvious reason is the vast difference in the average investor's returns and the average investment. According to the Quantitative Analysis of Investor Behavior report from DALBAR, the nation's leading financial services market research firm, the average investor underperforms the same investment by nearly 4%!
A recent Vanguard research states that the point that your financial professional adds peace of mind and may add about 3 percentage points of value in net portfolio returns over time.
Our task is to take the time, no matter how long it may take, to evaluate your current plans, meet with you to discuss your objectives and help get you through choices that may come. All of these practices, when factored together, potentially add value over time. We can work with you to create a diversified selection of solutions to your problems as being diversified, whether it is in investments, people or products may help you to achieve your best results!
Wealth Management
Wealth management entails making regular changes to your portfolio to help reduce risk, and when you’re ready to withdraw, you can do it in such a way to help limit the taxes you’ll pay. This return is not added over a specific time frame but can vary each year and according to your circumstances. It can be added quickly and dramatically, especially during market declines or euphoria, when you may be tempted to abandon your well-thought-out investment plan. It may be added slowly. It will not appear on the quarterly statement but is real nonetheless.
Investment Strategies for a Brighter Future
Addressing your need for protection against what could go wrong, such as a need for life insurance or the growing need to address the costs of long-term care as we all age, my job is to be an advocate for those whom you love and care for. When we plan for your retirement, whether we seek to grow your nest egg or protect your retirement income against a loss of your purchasing power, I am an advocate for your future selves.
Whether you are concerned with outliving your savings, or the risk of your retirement dollars not buying as much as they do today, I can help.
